Improvisatie en doorzettingsvermogen
Ross Ward heeft veertig jaar gewerkt aan de bouw van zijn Tinkertown. Tinkertown is een beeldenpark aan de weg die bekend staat als de Turqoise Trail, in Sandia Park, New Mexico. Alles is geimproviseerd: uit hout gesneden beelden zijn aangevuld met constructies van afval, gevonden materiaal en verzamelingen vreemde voorwerpjes. Sommige taferelen komen op hilarische wijze tot leven als je er een muntje ingooit. Ze spelen een deuntje, of voeren een circusvoorstelling op.

Thirty years worth of carving and "tinkering" by the owner of this property, a man named Ross Ward, has created the more than 12,000 carved objects, including a Western town, and a circus.

Funkiest place on earth

This is the funkiest place on earth, and it was very inspirational. The guy who put this all together, Ross Ward, started carving people out of wood in the early 1960s, and now this place is full of strange tableaus, circus freak show items, a boat that someone sailed around the world, doll and toy collections, and more. And the place it's all housed in is partially made of bottles stuck together with cement. It's amazingly cool!
